Magic Potion

This drink was...well...different. The carrot juice made it taste like carrot juice, which I suppose is fine if you like carrot juice. As for me, I found it just odd. It was a beautiful color though, especially for Fall / Thanksgiving. It reminded me of what butterbeer must look like.

Ingredients:
30 ml maple creme liqueur
90 ml milk
30 ml dark run
60 ml carrot juice
cinnamon stick for garnish (optional)

you'll also need:
drink shaker with ice in it (and ice strainer)

1. mix the maple creme liqueur and milk in the shaker, shaking for 15 to 20 seconds. A rich froth should develop. Pour it into a highball glass through the ice strainer.
2. mix the rum and carrot juice in the shaker, shaking for 8 to 10 seconds to blend. Carefully pour it into the center of the drink already in the glass. It will turn a pretty color.
3. add a cinnamon stick for garnish. If you really really think you need more vegetables in your diet, this is for you!

I got this recipe from the  SAQ website Espace Cocktail.

  1. It DOES look like butterbeer. I like carrot juice so I am sure I would like this one.
